Kronwall getting closer

January 5, 2006

Wing Niklas Kronwall, out since training camp with an injured knee, is apparently moving along with his rehab at a quicker pace than expected.

From Mlive:

(Defenseman Niklas) Kronwall participated in nearly a full practice on Wednesday, fueling more optimism that he’ll be able to return later this month after ACL surgery on Oct. 10.

“He didn’t participate in any battling drills in the end, but he’s looking great out there, the way he’s skating and handling the puck,” Wings defenseman Nicklas Lidstrom said.

Iwo:  various news reports this week have stated Kronwall understands his first priority is to get healthy enough to play for the Wings, not necessarily the Swedish Olympic team.
