Preds miss chance

again, to join the Wings atop the Central division.  They lost to Edmonton 4-2 last night, finding the far West as treacherous as Detroit often does (1-2 on this trip).

It was the third time in the last ten days Nashville has lost when given the opportunity to grab a share of the division lead.

It was 2-1 Edmonton when I turned it on last night…just in time to see Vokoun give his latest Belfour of ’98 impression, throwing his stick at the puck and subsequently getting beat by the resulting penalty shot.

“I would have liked to have had it, but it wasn’t the one play that decided the game,” Vokoun said.

Really?  It was 2-1 when you tossed your stick like a javelin.  Smyth scored on the penalty shot, which was the eventual game winner.  If any play decided the game, I’d say it was that one.
