Legace appears healthy in win

December 31, 2005

According to a GR Griffin press release, Manny Legace showed no signs of being hampered by his cranky left knee in the Griffin 7-2 win over Hamilton last night.

Manny Legace, on a one-game conditioning assignment from the Detroit Red Wings, made 20 saves and even earned an assist in his Grand Rapids debut, appearing unconstrained by the left knee sprain he suffered in Anaheim on Nov. 25.

Naturally, none of the Detroit papers saw fit to mention his first rehab start.  I wonder if the Tigers would receive the same treatment if Jeremy Bonderman had pitched for Toledo last night.

More from the Griffin release…

Kukla pointed out that after Legace’s win, he headed back to Hockeytown.
